Ideas to Keep Learning - 11

Published : 21 May 2020 Views: 5994

Continuing our series which shares great ideas and the latest ideas and suggestions to help you keep active, keep connected and keep learning.

Produce a calendar

Whitwick and District U3A’s Digital Photography Group have designed and produced a calendar with photos from members with a different stunning photo each month. It’s a lovely way to share the group’s photos and a useful calendar for members.

Word with friends 2

If you want to play word games with your friends online you can invite them through this smartphone app which is almost as good as real scrabble and just as competitive.

Sketchbook or art group

We can still draw and paint at home and share with each but taking photos and sending on, the craft time can be therapeutic as well.

Quizzes

Quizzes have never been so popular as they are at the moment and they’re easy to run on zoom or other videoconferencing. Wanstead and Woodford U3A have published all the questions and answers from their quizzes here to help you get ideas for yours: https://u3asites.org.uk/files/w/wanstead-woodford/docs/montageof1-10quizzes.pdf

Take part in a quarantine supper club

Either make your own food for your own dinner party or join in a supper club organised by a restaurant that is operating online. Have a look for your favourites and see if they are running something online.

Garden groups

Share photos and virtual garden tours with other members, as well as putting photos of members’ gardens on the website. We all have more time (and good weather) to get our gardens looking really wonderful, so it’s nice to share them virtually with people outside our household!

The words

Some members have been sending us their experiments with words which have put a smile on our faces. Have a look and send yours in if you’re feeling creative:
